Data Handling

No Vendor Lock-In

Everything you create or edit in CDSEO is synced directly to Shopify. Your data lives in your store, not trapped in our system.

What Syncs to Shopify

  • Meta titles and descriptions - Saved to Shopify's SEO metafields on products, collections, pages, and articles
  • Product descriptions - Saved directly to your Shopify product descriptions
  • Collection descriptions - Saved directly to your Shopify collection descriptions
  • Page and article content - Saved to Shopify metafields (cdseo.content and cdseo.content_json)
  • URL redirects - Created directly in Shopify's URL redirects
  • Image alt text - Saved to your Shopify product images

  • Activity logs - Actions taken within CDSEO
  • Settings - Your CDSEO preferences and thresholds

Data Retention

  • After uninstall - CDSEO-only data is retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted
  • Shopify data - All synced content remains in your Shopify store permanently
